Idea

I was trying to get Mythtv working with Ubuntu the other day and I had a thought. Wouldn't it be cool if I could remember all the link I clicked on to solve a particular problem, a sort of solution trail. Then I thought wouldn't it be cool if I could rate how useful each link was and which ones had the solution to my problem, usually I get a solution from more than one page. Now wouldn't this be cool if Other people could search and add solution trails, even comment on and rate other people's solution trails.

I continued along this line of thinking and thought a Firefox plugin would be just the thing for this. First you would enter the problem you are trying to solve, ie Getting a PVR 150 card working with Edgy Eft. Then it would kind of record all the links that you clicked on, as well as giving you a dial to rate how useful the page you are currently on is in solving your problem. This information would all be stored online some where, I'm toying with the idea of doing a mash up on an existing site.

A point in space

Firstly to introduce myself. My name is Craig and I'm a random kinda guy, and this blog will reflect this. I plan to put my random thoughts and ideas here. So don't expect 2 posts to look the same or even vaguely be on the same topic. I'm a software engineer that has many and varied interests, from flying model gliders to mountain biking. So my posts could contain anything from these many and varied interests.
